At Generations of Hope, families are the cornerstone of our neighborhood. We have two different types of families that together make our neighborhood truly special.

Adoptive Families

Our adoptive families make a lifetime commitment to each child they adopt to always be there for them, offer love unconditionally, and provide acceptance. Adoptive families are here to create a better life for children in foster care by joining them into their new Forever Family. Additionally our adoptive families take advantage of the great resource the senior residents provide. Seniors are also organically “adopted” by families as grandparents and all work together to help support each other.

Volunteer Families

We also have volunteer families who reside in our community. These might be former adoptive families whose children have grown and left home. Former adoptive families often transition into volunteer families because they want to remain and volunteer in our community and do not meet the age requirements to be seniors. Similarly there are families who don’t want to adopt and foster but want to volunteer and support our community. All volunteer families agree to volunteer at least six hours per week in the community.
