CU Denver Lynx Alternative Spring Break

Over the course of a week that ended on Good Friday, we benefited greatly from a team of students from the University of Colorado Denver who, through their Office of Student Life, chose Hope Meadows as the place for their alternative spring break. These young men and women volunteered to forgo a traditional spring break in order to improve the lives of others, and we are immensely grateful for their doing so, as well as for the lasting memories they created for us all!

Hope Meadows featured on NPR’s Morning Edition

NPR Senior Correspondent Ina Jaffee recently visited Hope Meadows to tour the community and meet residents for a story that aired on Morning Edition on August 2.  She interviewed several Hope Meadows residents, as well as GHDC Founder Brenda Krause Eheart.

Jaffe also paid a visit to the newest community based on the Generations of Hope model, Genesis, currently under construction in Washington, DC.

You can listen to the segment below, or find it on the NPR website.

RTHS Senior Survivor Tribe 2015 Fundraiser

Twelve Rantoul Township High School seniors competed in a three-day “survivor” competition run by the National Honor Society to raise funds for Hope Meadows. The competitors took part in physical, mental, academic, individual and group competitions before, during and after school for three days in early April, with Juan Ortiz ultimately taking the prize for Senior Survivor 2015. Generations of Hope thanks all those who competed as well as NHS and Ms. Alyssa Greenwald!
